Description
The roasting plant was founded in Venice in 952 by Sir Ermenegildo Rizzardini, a Venetian roster and coffee lover.
Located next to Rialto Bridge, the artisan roasting plant (called ExtraDoge) became famous among the locals for its finest coffee blends and for its delicious blend. The roasting plant soon became a hot spot for hundreds of cafes and shops in Venice and for people looking for fresh roasted coffee. After 50 Years of history Sir Rizzardini chose a worthy successor who learnt the profession and decided to follows his footsteps.
The Doge Blu is a blend composed of 80% Arabica beans from Brazil, Colombia, El Salvador, Guatemala, Panama, Ethiopia and India, which has undergone decaffeination by the Demus Company in Trieste (Italy). The decaffeination process utilizes dichloromethane, a solvent particularly effective in the extraction of caffeine. Furthermore, the easy removal of the dichloromethane from the coffee assures that the roasted coffee does not contain any chemical residual as a result of the decaffeination process.
The finished product is a coffee that is 97% caffeine-free.
Arabica 80% – Robusta 20%.
